This month the news is all about one man…Mick Tully.
On Sunday 7th February at the request of Rick Faye and myself, Mick was accepted as an apprentice instructor on Guro Dan Inosanto's programme.
The flood of good wishes sent to Mick on Facebook was the best indication of why the time was right for this promotion.
I know few people who have genuinely touched the lives of others like this man has. In the time that I have known Mick I have heard countless versions of the same tale recounted, namely…"I had hit rock bottom and Mick saved me just by caring".

In his day to day life Mick sets about trying to make the world a better place just by being kind, generous, and positive; in his martial arts practice he incorporates all of that and helps others to realise their dreams whether they be big or small.
On the physical level Mick keeps improving in all areas and will, I am sure, continue to do so; always travelling long distances to work with his teachers.
As far as I am concerned, I am the lucky one; knowing him has resulted in me smiling more...and that's the sort of gift we all need.
Well done Mick.
