Welcome to the Integrated Arts website, an information resource covering my approach to the teaching and performance of the Jun Fan martial arts, the Jeet Kune Do concepts, and the Filipino Martial Arts as taught by Guro Dan Inosanto.
'Tel's Tips' will be my quarterly musings on techniques; training methods; and other thoughts that I think may be of use to the visitor. The image gallery is simply a collection of photos which may help put a face to the names of some of the people mentioned in these pages.
In 1986 I was awarded my apprentice instructor credentials under Guro Dan Inosanto which took the form of two certificates; one covering the Jun Fan Martial Arts (incorporating the concepts of Jeet Kune Do); and the other covering the Filipino Martial Arts as taught by Guro Dan. It was my understanding that Guro preferred the people he certified to give a name to their expression and this was usually then associated with any teaching they carried out. I therefore adopted the title of 'Integrated Arts' and I've stayed with that ever since. During the last twenty years I have been fortunate enough to be promoted to the rank of 'Full Instructor' under Guro Dan and this rank allows me to give permission to the people you will find listed under the Teachers & Students page
Within the Integrated Arts structure there is no grading or ranking, I simply certify people when I feel the time is right. The certification is based on their ability to pass on what they know as well as perform it however there is a saying that "when you have one eye on the destination you only have one eye left for the road that leads there" and that pretty much sums up my approach to people who ask me about timescales on certification.
I hope you enjoy reading the pages within the site and please feel free to let me know your observations by mailing me at firstname.lastname@example.org
